A history of success
Marmi e Graniti d’Italia Sicilmarmi was born in 1948, following the vision of Dr. Giacomo Caruso, who started quarrying the Perlato di Sicilia marble in Custonaci, near Trapani. Dr. Caruso was the first to understand the potential of this material, new at that time, investing in the construction of a full processing plant. His effort soon paid off, with the company rapidly increasing its revenue, while Dr. Caruso was appointed “Cavaliere del Lavoro”, thanks to his strong contribution to the Sicilian stone industry. Following the market success of the Perlato di Sicilia, MGI was able to acquire, over the course of a few decades, quarries of several materials throughout Italy. By the early 70s, MGI relocated its headquarters in Massa Carrara, the heart of global marble trading, where it still stands today with a 6500 square meters facility on 16 acres of land.
With an experience dating back more than half a century, Marmi e Graniti d’Italia Sicilmarmi is today one of Italy’s leaders in the marble industry. Our factory is equipped with the latest technology machines for manufacturing natural stone, which allow us to perform even the most challenging tasks and answer all of our clients’ needs. From the quarry to the finished product, MGI handles all phases of stone processing, in order to achieve flawless results in all of its works. Next to the production of cut to size pieces, MGI sells its extensive inventory of slabs to international suppliers and, thanks to a recently installed line of machines, produces and stocks a large quantity of standard sizes tiles.
