Modigliani competition: ecco i 3 finalisti

Caro lettore,

  • Earl G. Jackson IV

    1. Introduce yourself and tell us briefly about your background as an architect:

“I am design director at Cooper Robertson & Partners and Adjunct Associate Professor of Architecture at Columbia University’s GSAPP. Prior to joining Cooper Robertson, I was Associate Director at SOM in New York and Designer with Michael Graves. In 2003 I expanded my scale of work to focus predominantly on Architecture and Urban Design issues, under the premise that refining my process for site and public realm design would strengthen the work I was doing at the architectural scale. Since then, I have established projects focused on integrated systems, architecture, and landscape in cities all over the world. Above all, I believe the highest value in projects is created by the highest degrees of care and craft in their conception and construction.”

    2. Introduce yourself and tell us briefly about your background as an architect:

“I am inspired by Modigliani and the change that he and his pears… (continua qui)

  • Jifat Windmiller

    1. Introduce yourself and tell us briefly about your background as an architect:

“My name is Jifat Windmiller and I have been President of Penta Windmiller Architecture, PC for over 20 years, a small design firm located in New York City.”

    2. Introduce yourself and tell us briefly about your background as an architect:

“Although I am an architect first and foremost in my soul I am an artist; this is the basis of all my work and all of my life. It is likely because of this that I have been an architect to several well-known artists, including Robert Rauschenberg, who was my client for 15 years for numerous projects untill his death. This competition appealed to the artist in me in a way that most competitions do not; at its core is about creativity and the celebration of a life of creativity. I take the most pleasure when art and architecture become merged, when the line between them is blurred… (continua qui)

  • William Randy McGee

    1. Introduce yourself and tell us briefly about your background as an architect:

“I am a design principal with ZGF Partnership in Portland, Oregon. My career began in the Deep South under the mentorship of the late Sambo Mockbee, founder of the Rural Studio, and that early experience has been the guiding lantern in my work to always strive for an authentic design rooted in specific culture, time and place. I have had the unique and humble opportunity to work at all scales and around the globe in the practice of architecture. Recent projects include work for leading Universities and Fast Company. Architecture for me will always be a learning process, from the travelling in situ sketch to the discovery of an authentic approach to a specific place. Favorite place to travel? Italy, of course.”

    2. Introduce yourself and tell us briefly about your background as an architect:

“The idea for a design competition for a Modigliani fountain in his Italian homewtown of Livorno first of all sparked my most humble creative spirit whitin. Moreover, the…(continua qui)
