When marble residuals become artworks
Saturday June 8th was the day of the award ceremony for the “idee al cubo” contest (literally “cubic ideas”) that has involved over seventy students from a local High School in Massa. Marmi e Graniti d’Italia was one of the supporters of the project, putting funds and materials (in particular our Caldia and Verde Issorie marbles) for the creation of artworks which all had one thing in common: being eco-friendly; starting from the raw marble each student had to create design pieces, utilizing sand and debris as well and therefore eliminating any form of waste. The result has been astonishing: 560 unique pieces were created and 12 students were awarded by a jury composed of all the sponsoring companies.
Here at MGI we are happy with the dedication shown by each student and we’ll make sure to post pictures of some of the artworks on our online channels; if you are interested in knowing more and would like to give us your opinion on this event stop by our facebook (facebook.com/MGISicilmarmi) and twitter (twitter.com/MGISicilmarmi) pages.
